4. Welfare & Safeguarding

Royston Hockey Club are only responsible for your children whilst they are on the pitch during a session.

On arrival at the pitch, all children need to wait outside until the previous group have left and they are called in by the coaches. Whilst they are waiting outside, they will NOT be supervised by anyone at RHC and parents should wait with them until they enter the pitch.

It is the parents’ responsibility to ensure that training is on (particularly if the weather is bad) before they drop off. Notification will be sent via email and/or text.

Royston Hockey Club recommends that children are collected from the pitch. However if you allow your child to walk to the car park to meet you, please note that if you are late they will be waiting unsupervised.

At Royston Hockey Club, we are committed to ensuring the welfare of all its members and the safeguarding and protection of children and young people. By ensuring that our coaches, umpires, and volunteers have appropriate DBS checks and safeguarding training, we aim to create a safe environment for all to play hockey in.
