Royston M3 v St. Albans M7

Another week where injury played the dominant role for Royston in selection and performance. Thank you to those who were able to play, or were injured but nonetheless came to support.
St. Albans M7s proved to be a very active side, with many juniors being well-marshalled by more experienced players. and their very active, young front line caused Royston problems from the start. As a result, Royston spent most of the match defending, and their few forays into the opposition half were very much movements on the break. Unfortunately, none yielded any significant chances, and a 3-0 half time lead for St. Albans reflected the balance of play and possession. The second half was very similar in nature and the eventual 5-0 score line drew no complaints from a tired Royston side.
The next few games for Royston M3 offer the prospect of more positive results, but the injury problems look likely to continue and thus they can be expected to be hard-fought matches. The attitude remains bright and positive, and the smiles on the faces of the more junior players shows the willingness to play and, most of all, enjoy.
