This was a challenging week for Royston M3 due to player injury and other commitments causing pressure. Ultimately M3s fielded an 11 including two players who appeared despite injury and illness. Great commitment.
The match was very evenly balanced, with both sides creating occasional chances but each defence standing firm and both GKs making important saves. No score by half time, and each side took the break knowing that there was little in it.
The second half was a carbon copy of the first. Good commitment by both sides to chase the win, The injury/illness meant Royston had to adopt a more defensive structure for the latter period of the half, but the game was heading towards an equitable draw when Berkhamsted managed to convert from a goal line scramble 40 seconds from the final whistle. A tough loss, but a good match played in an excellent spirit with both sides complimentary towards the other at the end.
