Derby joy

The boys came to the pitch raring to go after a week off.
Royston started well putting some immediate pressure onto Letchworth. This led to a early short corner which Jake struck well to bring up the first goal. Royston continued to dominate and Ollie Jones showed some great individual skill to score a second. Royston continued to dominate and 2 more goals followed. Finn put in some great work on the left. Letchworth upped their game for the last 5 minutes of the half but Royston held firm and Wobbly pulled off a great save from a short corner. Half time came and we were 4-0 up.
Royston started the second half strongly and created lots of chances. Letchworth keeper was however on great form and saved several. Alex scored one using his nose and then missed one from about 3 feet. Mike W scored another and was on his hat trick. 2 more goals followed including the best team goal I have seen Royston 2s score - pass, pass, pass, pass and finish. Coach Phil would have been proud. Archie came into his own make several breaks and looking strong on the ball. Letchworth rarely threatened but each time they broke Roddi was there to collect the ball and start another attack.
The game finished 7-0. The best result R2s have had in recent history. Well done all.
Man of the match went to Archie for a really strong game with Jonny S a close runner up. Alex took dick of the day for that miss.
