Royston 2s vs Hertford 4s

A strong result for the M2s to bring up 4 league wins in a row and leave us firmly top of the table. Wes returned from injury lay-off but strangely didnt seem to be hung-over - perhaps a changed man?? A strong start for Royston led to an early short corner which Jake struck cleanly and hard to bring up the first goal. Oppo then got a bit lippy with the umps leading to the first green card. Royston continued to play well leading to a further 3 goals in the first half and leaving us well set at half time 4-0 up. Hertford generally didnt threaten in the first half apart from a few througballs behind the defence which Wobby came off his line with astonishing speed to clear well. It was an unseasonably warm day which perhaps led to a slower second half. One of the Hertford youngsters finished very well to bring up their first goal. Various chances came and went for Royston. RvP committed a shocking foul which led to a green card for Ruan! Royston then brought up a fifth goal and the match finished at 5-1.
George Bradley had a really strong game and was duly awarded man of the match. Jon C had automatic DoTD for failing to bring the Top Banana trophy to the game (sorry Covid isnt an excuse).
Oh and then post match 2 of their players tested positive for Covid - so lets see what that bring us.
