Royston went into the game knowing that victory would secure their league status for the next season and started positively from the off.

Royston opened the scoring after Potters Bar failed to play to the whistle allowing Carl Taylor the freedom to pick out Toby Hall at the back post for a tap in. Carl Taylor then got the second of the game after a goalmouth scramble saw him dink it over the keeper. David Evans then grabbed the third meaning all three forwards had scored in the first 30mins.

The shooting practice in training had paid off.

There was still time for Royston to get score again in the first half, with Oliver Garratt being the first to react from a rebounded shot.

Potters Bar started the second half on the front foot, but Royston's defence remained solid. After weathering the early storm, Royston began to create chances on the counter-attack and should have added to their lead.

Callum "Dad's Army" Weir got the final goal of the game with a slick finish into the bottom corner.

Barring a bit handbags from James 'Moose' Biddlecombe it was an excellent performance all round.
