Royston M1 XI (5) - (5) Stevenage 1 XI

Stevenage were there in form side but again came up against a resilient Royston.

Royston got the first goal of the game. Josh Hudges smashed the ball towards goal. Carl Taylor got the flick on and Toby Hall tapped in at the back post. Hall finally getting on the scoresheet this season. Carl then missed the chance to put Royston 2-0 up when a slow bobbling ball hit foot not stick. Shortly after the missed opportunity, Stevenage equalised with a smart finish into the bottom corner.

Royston again took the lead from a short corner scored by Toby Hall, but Stevenage soon equalised. There was just enough time in the second half for Rob Woodhouse to get his standard green card for aggressively throwing the ball after a poor tackle from "chad" Jones.

Into the second half Stevenage raced to a 4-2 lead with a drag flick and a tap in after a mazy run from their number 11. Royston didn't let their heads drop and were soon back on the front foot. Oliver Garratt
got the first goal back, channelling his inner baseball skills to smash the ball into the goal. David Evans then got the goal of the game haunting Stevenage's defence again, tackling the defender and cooly lobbing the goalkeeper from the top of the D.

The joy wasn't to last long . Stevenage soon got their 5th goal of the game from another short corner. But anything they can do, James 'Moose' Biddlecombe can do better slotting the ball home from the short corner.

David had the final chance to go full Callum Weir Royston Legend status. Finding himself free on the back post but missed with a wide shot.

Overall a draw seemed a fair result in an entertaining game.
