Royston were looking to bounce back from a poor result against Potters Bar, putting focus into maintaining shape and enjoyment.
The pre-match team talk from a returning Toby Hall seemed to have a positive effect with Royston going two goals up. The first coming from a fluid counter-attack which saw David Evans slot past the keeper. David then turned provider passing to Callum Weir to tap in at the back post.
The joy wasn't to last as Royston lost structure and Broxbourne began to dominate. Two goals came before half time, both from short corners.
Into the second half, Broxbourne continued to dominate the early exchanges getting the third goal and keeping Royston at arm's length.
Royston frustration began to show with Carl Taylor getting himself a 2-minute sin bin for a classic centre forwards tackle.
Weirdly going down to 10 improved Royston (or rattled Broxbourne) as they began to create chances. David was again involved in the goal. This time, winning the flick after being scythed down by the keeper. James 'Moose' Biddlecombe stepped up and cooly finished.
The final exchanges where frantic, but neither side could get the winner.
Overall a draw seemed a fair result in an enjoyable game.
