Electric Boogaloo 3 - Goal Fest.

Royston travelled to Luton in high spirits after taking 100% of the points from their opening 2 games. They left in even higher spirits after extending their 100% record to a 3rd game, after an extremely enjoyable affair full of creativity and guile.

After putting on a backs-to-the wall defensive display against Stevenage, Royston looked to be more dominant going forwards in this fixture and that plan quickly bore fruit as the ever impressive James 'Moose' Biddlecombe was able to latch on to a cross from Toby Hall before dispatching an effort low into the centre of the goal. Not long after, Callum Weir made an adventurous run forward from the right half position to create an overload situation in which he was able to profit from some slick buildup involving Carl Taylor and Toby Hall again. Keen to not miss out on the forward action, Man of the Match Oliver 'Chad' Jones tore forwards up the left flank from the left half position and unleashed a tomahawk into the far corner making the score a convincing 3-0. Luton were then able to scrap a late first-half consolation after Royston were caught napping at the back.

The message at half time was much the same as from the beginning and did not take long for David Evans to notch his 2nd goal of the campaign, benefitting from the keeper spilling a shot into his path. James 'Moose' Biddlecombe was then able to make the score 5-1 through a powerful drag flick from a short corner routine, his 4th of the season.

It was not all plain sailing for Royston however, as a late flurry from Luton saw them capitalising on complacency at the back, hitting Royston with a quick 1-2 to take the score to 5-3. This was a wake up call for the Crows who then turned it on again for the closing stages as from close range, Eddy Hall was able to turn in an effort from his brother Toby to take the score to 6-3 and kill Luton's dreams of a come back.

As Royston's confidence continues to grow, they look forward to welcoming Cheshunt to the Peter Boizot Fortress this week. Cheshunt may represent Royston's toughest challenge to date.
