The Battle of Blueharts

Royston Men’s 1st XI were victors in a fiery game against Blueharts 4s. The game flared up after a few tackles from both sides raised tempers. Royston were close to losing their balance and zen, more importantly the game as they dropped a few players to cards. In truth the less said about this game the better.

The key facts:
• Sam Miles scores 15 minutes in
• Royston loose players to cards
• Handbags around the goalmouth before the half
• Royston led at the break 1-0
• Royston start the second with heads slightly more attached.
• Royston extend lead with another strike from Sam Miles
• Royston concede sloppy goal towards the end of the game.

The game, if nothing else, highlighted the comradery between the players of Royston. With the much needed support on the side-lines from a large section of the Men’s 3rd X, who decided to support on after their game had ended previously. The support was very much needed and appreciated. Special shout out to the ever-reliable Rob Woodhouse for defending the honour of the dear maiden in goal. At the end of the day a 2-1 win against a tough opposition with a bare 11 will do us nicely.
