Le match de Hockey

Royston were in action this week at the fortress. And with the rallying support of the home fans, it was Royston who opened the scoring through Mike 'La puissance' Welding with a tidy finish past the opposition keeper. Low and hard like a low hard thing. You'd think having been able to watch the game from the side-lines this week the analysis would be better, but yeah... probably not.

Harpenden hit back after 10 or so minutes, I forget what they did but they did it and they did it good. Harpenden were however trumped at stages by the heroic stand in goalkeeper, who may very well have put me out of a job on the pitch.

After going into the half all tied Sam 'La beauté' Miles scored a fantastic deflection into the side netting. He doesn't score them this good every week, but when he does... well let's just say c'est magnifique (Insert chefs kiss here). Not to be outdone up stepped 'le grand bébé papa' Carl Taylor.

From the side-lines a big wave of relief came over like the game was pretty much done. However Harpenden were not out of the game by any stretch and soon the pang of fear washed over the fans as they managed to pull a goal back, much to their credit as Royston's goalkeeper was having an absolute barn stormer.

Royston saw out the game to stamp a 3-2 win on the record and now we can look forward to the real prize next weekend by having a good game (hopefully) against Cheshunt at home and then a fantastic night at the bingo! (Sat 28th at the golf club)
